LMG makes a lot of mistakes, too many mistakes.. but saying that a "100 million dollar company" should not do this, is just factually inaccurate. that cash does not exist at LMG, and steve knows this. why make this argument if not to purposefully make LMG seem evil, rather than just careless.

These valid criticisms were never addressed. I'd give Linus the benefit of the doubt himself but we saw how he reacted when criticism goes his ways plenty of times. LMG in the other hand might be different.
When Billet mentioned the value of the prototype and asked for compensation, LMG ignored their emails. Then when GN publishes the video criticizing what LMG did, LMG replies "yeah we'll compensate you for the lost prototype". Linus then posts about here about how they "already agreed" to compensate Billet in his response here.
So you either didn't watch the GN video or you are ignoring that it was an LMG video that first criticized GN's testing standards (there bread-and-butter) publicly. It wasn't like GN jumped into someone else's business: they were directly criticized and this was their response. Linus' response of saying "we're working on it" doesn't change the critique that LMG is marketing itself as factual-first source and then sharing wrong and low quality data. Interesting that Linus is also focused on the Billet Labs situation here and NOT the critique of his marketing position.

If I want to see detailed GPU or CPU benchmrks and tests I will go to Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed. For all general IT info I will go to LMG, they are far more entertaining to listen. It makes LMG and Linus specifically look really really bad. the roughest part is the billet drama. It seems odd to me that Steve would automatically think Linus was trying to sink a company. Maybe they didn’t test it right but I’m sure Linus as a whole is a decent person. As for the auction, no one at gamers nexus knows the details of anything related to that.
However, it’s important to remember that an expose like this is VERY helpful to GN- by permanently damaging the reputation of LMG. if the points are valid then it doesn't matter if it's self-serving.
