In 2021, I visited Boston for the first time, and the first restaurant I tried was Buttermilk and Bourbon. That initial exposure to Boston food exceeded my expectations. So, of course, I had to go back when I had the opportunity three years later.

The bigger miss was the chicken and waffles; the cheddar bourbon waffles tasted bland, the sweet and spicy syrup tasted like Tabasco was simple mixed with maple syrup, and the honey butter too cold and hard to spread on the waffle itself aside from no taste. The thighs itself were cooked well. My bourbon cocktail was great.
